Mark Raynes Roberts

Mark Raynes Roberts

Mark Raynes Roberts

Biography:

Mark Raynes Roberts has gained an international reputation as an artist who works in a medium few have mastered.
A multi-award-winning goldsmith, crystal artist and designer born in 1961, in Sutton Coldfield, England, he has resided
in Toronto, Canada since 1982. Over the past quarter-century, Raynes has achieved world-wide acclaim for his crystal
masterpieces and iconic award designs. He creates crystal masterpieces that are remarkable for their precision and
detail, and for the beauty and complexity of their meaning.

From large 8 foot crystal sculpture to architectural glass and smaller sculptures, some of which incorporate precious metals,
the one-of-a-kind pieces of Raynes Roberts have been showcased in London and New York and reside in private and corporate
collections of an international clientele. Raynes sculptures have been presented to such luminaries as Dr. Nelson Mandela, the
Prime Minister of Canada, Muhammad Ali and HRH Prince Andrew, The Duke of York among others.

As a creative artist, sculptor and photographer he remains introspective about his work, which has been concerned with transcendence
over adversity and the universality of human striving and challenge. His art is focused on the complex issues that challenge
all of humanity including human equality, the human relationship with the environment, and human capacity to celebrate our
lives and mortality through hope.
